Dino Nuggies

Dino nuggets are a fun and popular snack for kids (and even some adults!). They are small, dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets that you can find in the frozen food section of many grocery stores. While you can certainly buy pre-made dino nuggets, you can also make them at home using a simple recipe. Here’s how.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts or chicken tenders
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (you can use plain or seasoned breadcrumbs)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for added flavor)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil or cooking spray

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it with cooking oil or cooking spray.
  2. Cut the chicken breasts or tenders into small, bite-sized pieces. You can cut them into dino shapes using small cookie cutters if you have them, or you can simply cut them into small squares or strips.
  3. In three separate shallow bowls, prepare the breading stations. In the first bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In the second bowl, beat the eggs. In the third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese (if using), salt, and pepper.
  4. Take each piece of chicken and coat it first in the flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat the chicken in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs to the chicken.
  5. Place the coated dino nuggets onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. If you’re using cookie cutters, you may need to reshape the nuggets a bit after transferring them to the baking sheet.
  6. Once all the nuggets are coated and arranged on the baking sheet, lightly spray or drizzle them with cooking oil to help them brown and crisp up in the oven.
  7. Bake the dino nuggets in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through. The exact cooking time will depend on the size of your nuggets, so keep an eye on them to avoid overcooking.
  8. Once they are done, remove the dino nuggets from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Serve the dino nuggets with your favorite dipping sauces, such as ketchup, barbecue sauce, honey mustard, or ranch dressing. These homemade dino nuggets are sure to be a hit with kids and adults alike!
